Carrie Pastor Cardinale, Founder
Ms. Caridad Pastor Cardinale holds a J.D. degree from New York University Law School, and she is a Root-Tilden Snow Scholar. Ms. Pastor is the founder of Pastor & Associates, P.C., now Pastor & Deromemaj, P.C., and has been serving the international community for over two decades.
Ms. Pastor has worked for and partner with various world-wide recognized organizations before she established her own law firm in Michigan. While Ms. Pastor was the Director of Migration of the Archdiocese of Detroit, she tirelessly lobbied in Washington, D.C. on many issues among them to bring an immigration court to Detroit, Michigan.
Ms. Pastor also worked at the United Nations in New York, where she dealt with international disarmament and human rights issues. She is a former U.S. Attorney’s Office consultant in the District of New Jersey. She also worked in the Civil Rights Division for the City of New York handling the application of the new immigration laws.
While in New York, Ms. Pastor worked for the law offices of Roger Dietz on Madison Avenue in New York where she dealt with many international clients. She worked for the law firm of Hill Betts & Nash at the World Trade Center in New York where she handled international commercial matters.
After leaving New York, Ms. Pastor worked for the Archdiocese of Detroit, where she held a position as a Director of Migration. There she administered the Immigration & Refugee Programs and had responsibility for staff attorneys and counselors.
Afterwards, she worked for Butzel Long, one of the largest law firms in Detroit, Michigan, handling international commercial matters and immigration.
Ms. Pastor has litigated numerous cases concerning the rights of aliens. She has argued numerous cases before the Federal Courts nationwide.
Ms. Pastor is well known attorney for fighting on behalf of clients who have been waiting for their green cards or citizenship for over a decade. By filing numerous Mandamus law suits, she has been able to get her clients the green cards in less than a month and U.S. citizenship determinations rapidly. She is a recognized for filing numerous Habeas Corpuses on behalf of detained clients. These legal actions against ICE and other federal immigration agencies have stopped the deportation of our clients and have led to their immediate release from wrongful detention.
Ms. Pastor has also engaged in the representation of international corporate clients in the area of franchising agreements, due diligence for international bank financing, and contractual agreements between domestic and foreign companies. Ms. Pastor has advised international corporate clients in the area of international letters of credit, international finance, joint venture agreements and distribution agreements.
Ms. Pastor has been listed in Who’s Who Among Hispanic Americans, Super Lawyers and an Honored Member of the International Executives Guild. Her name appears on the Wall of Tolerance as a founding member of the National Campaign for Tolerance. Ms. Pastor is currently admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court-Eastern District of Michigan, Western District of Michigan and Northern District of Ohio and the courts of the State of Michigan.
She is fluent in Spanish and French and competent in Italian and Portuguese
